NEW HAVEN: Luckey Climbers will be moving into a new facility at 300 East Street after a purchase by 300 East Street LLC owned by the principals of the firm.
300 East Street formerly the home of Space Craft Manufacturing, is a 27,238 square foot property on 2.3 acres, the purchase price was $1.5 million.
The firm plans to relocate its manufacturing and executive offices from Chapel Street in New Haven to the new property. Alan Fischer of Fischer Commercial Real Estate represented the seller and buyer in the off-market transaction.
Luckey Climbers was founded by Tom Luckey, an artist, sculptor and architect renowned for his one-of-a-kind climbing sculptures. A graduate of the Yale School of Architecture. Luckey Climbers can be found qin museums, and recreational locations around the world.
Luckey’s son Spencer Luckey also a graduate of the Yale School of Architecture took over the company after the death of his father who had previously suffered an accident in his home, causing paralysis.
Under Spencer, the company has continued to flourish and the company’s unique and imaginative “three-dimensional climbing structures for children-oriented institutional and commercial clients,” can be found from Mexico City to Belfast, Ireland and beyond.
