1029thewhaleHARTFORD Red Wolf Broadcasting of Ledyard has purchased five Connecticut radio stations from Connoisseur Media of Westport.

The stations include WDRC-AM, WDRCFM, Hartford, WSNG, Torrington, WMMW, Meriden, and MOD 102 [W272DO] New Haven. Under a Local Marketing Agreement, Red Wolf will take over operations of the stations immediately prior to FCC approval and closing of the sale.

Red Wolf is owned by Connecticut broadcaster John Fuller, who also owns WBMW 106.5 FM [Ledyard, CT], WWRX 107.7 FM [Pawcatuck, CT], WJJF 94.9 [Montauk, NY], WMRQ 104.1 [Waterbury, CT] and WSKP 1180 [Hope Valley, RI], WSPR [Springfield], WMRQ [ Hartford], WKKB [ Middletown RI], WNTY {Southington].

 

WDRC AM operates as Talk of Connecticut and WDRC FM as 102.9 The Whale, a highly-rated stations in the Hartford radio market.

No programming changes are expected at either of the WDRC stations and employees are expected to stay on under the new management. MOD 102, New Haven, however, became Bomba 102, simulcasting Red Wolf’s statewide Spanish radio network.
