NEW BRITAIN: - The former Stanley Black & Decker building at 480 Myrtle Street is for sale.
According to Frank Amodio, owner of Amodio & Co. Real Estate who is representing the seller.
The five story 138,986 square foot building is outfitted with offices, a cafeteria, three elevators, a “modern atrium lobby”, and sits on a 5 acre parcel.
Stanley vacated the building and 200 employees were moved to its renovated office complex at the company’s world headquarters campus off Slater Road and an office building on West Street in Southington.
The property is appraised at $4,843,500, but according to Amodio the vacant building’s “price is negotiable. The appriaers show a $13 million dollar plus replacement cost for the building.
Hardware City Associates of Dublin, PA has owned the building, constructed in 1947, since April 2, 1990.
